Institut für Systembiotechnologie

Salut Sabrina!

My name is Sabrina, I studied biology at the Heinrich-Heine-University in Düsseldorf and did my Bachelor and my Master thesis at the Institute for Microbiology, where I got a very good education in micro- and molecular biology. During this basic research, I realized that I want to deal with applied topics and problems. Therefore I applied for a PhD position at iSBio, in this Institute current questions and problems are dealt with on various topics. Now I am working with Corynebacterium glutamicum, the aim is to generate a cell factory, which produces high value chemicals for human health and well-being. This project combines genetic engineering, systems metabolic analysis and bioprocess optimization. I am looking very forward to my new project and enjoying my work here at iSBio with my colleagues.
